Heather Elizabeth Berkey, Watertown, and Joseph Paul Miner, Adams Center, were married at 1 p.m. Oct. 13 at Watertown Elks Lodge with the Rev. Terry Alford officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Tina Berkey, Adams Center, and the late Russell Berkey. The groom is the son of Todd and Janice Miner, Pierrepont Manor. The bride was given in marriage by her mother. She wore an updated version of her mother’s wedding dress and veil from 1984.

Maresa Badour, Carthage, and Michelle Houghton, South Glens Falls, were maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Suzanne Wood, Canandaigua, cousin of the bride, Shannon Bohmaker, Ithaca, and Hannah Cottrell, Fort Drum. Junior bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Miner, Pierrepont Manor, sister of the groom, and Kassandra Augustine and Katie Augustine, both of Carthage and cousins of the bride. Emma Wise and Madeline Wise, Clifton Park, were their cousin’s flower girls.

Jared Miner, Pierrepont Manor, was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Casey Hayes, Watertown, Chris Orvis, Alburgh, Vt., A.J. Bohmaker, Ithaca, and Brock Cottrell, Fort Drum. Malachi Wood, Canandaigua, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

A reception was held at the Elks Lodge. The couple spent a weekend at the Riveredge Resort, Alexandria Bay.

Mrs. Miner graduated in 2004 from South Jefferson Central School, Adams, in 2006 from Jefferson Community College, Watertown, with an associate degree in liberal arts, humanities and social sciences, and in 2008 and 2009 from SUNY Potsdam, with a bachelor’s degree in dance and a master’s degree in childhood education. She is a teacher at Immaculate Heart Primary School, Watertown.

Mr. Miner graduated in 2001 from South Jefferson Central School, in 2009 from SUNY Oswego, with a bachelor’s degree in childhood education, and in 2010 from SUNY Potsdam, with a master’s degree in literacy. He is an applied behavior analyst therapist for Three Tier Consulting, Watertown.

The couple resides in Watertown.
