Lisbon woman charged with criminal impersonation

OGDENSBURG — A Lisbon woman was charged Friday with two counts of second-degree criminal impersonation after she twice used another person’s name in an apparent scheme to obtain a prescription pain medicine from a pharmacy.

Amy L. Jones, 34, of 1160 Route 28, was arrested by state police. She is to answer the charges in town of Oswegatchie Court.

Police said that Ms. Jones on Jan. 25 identified herself as a Heuvelton Health Center nurse in calling Walgreens in Ogdensburg to fill a prescription for Tramadol for her mother, who has no such prescription. Ms. Jones, however, does have one on a monthly basis and her refill time was still pending.

On Tuesday, according to state police, Ms. Jones identified herself as a Walgreens pharmacy technician when she called the health center to say that the Jan. 25 request was a “computer glitch and human error” and apologized.
