DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Ashley A. Brothers, 22, of Gouverneur with driving while intoxicated and ticketed her for failure to signal a turn at 2:14a.m. Friday following a traffic stop on Maple Street. Police said the traffic stop was made after an officer observed Brothers fail to signal her turn coming off of Maple Street onto the Clarkson Avenue extension. She reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes a DWI in New York state.



Brothers was accompanied by her boyfriend Nigel A. Spahr who became agitated when Brothers was taken into custody. Patrols repeatedly instructed Nigel back into the vehicle and he refused. Nigel was also taken into custody for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Both were transported to the Potsdam Police Department for processing.



RESISTING ARREST - POTSDAM - Village police charged Nigel A. Spahr, 23, of Gouverneur with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle during the traffic stop at 2:14 a.m. Friday on Maple Street that led to Ashley Brothers DWI charge. Police said Brothers was accompanied by her boyfriend, Spahr, who became agitated when Brothers was taken into custody. Patrols repeatedly instructed Nigel to get back into the vehicle and he refused. He was also released on an appearance ticket.

1830 Report of a burglar alarm at a local business. Patrols dispatched.

1902 Report of an illegally parked vehicle on Maple Street.

2028 Patrols responded to a burglar alarm at a local business.

2049 Cell phone was turned into the police department and was returned to the owner.

2309 Received a call from a subject requesting to go to the hospital for mental health issues.
