Chaumont- Mrs. Sue A. Ludlow, age 65, of County Route 8, died Thursday at her residence where she was under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

The funeral mass will be said at 11am Monday at St. Mary’s Church in Clayton with Father Pierre Aubin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1-4pm Sunday at the T.R. Jetty Funeral Home in Clayton.

Sue was born February 11, 1947, in Carthage, the daughter of Paul and Margaret Tabolt Reff. She graduated from St. Mary’s School in Clayton. On November 6th, 1965, she married Gene Ludlow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr Dennis Lynch officiating.

She worked in the food service industry in various locations due to her husband’s military career.

Sue enjoyed doing floral arrangements, antiques, playing slot machines and especially loved playing games with her kids and grandkids.

Surviving besides her husband Gene are two daughters, Gena (Steven) Hamstra of PA and Ellen Buffa of Rochester; two sons Daniel of Depauville and Martin of Chaumont; Eight grandchildren; seven brothers, Paul (Carol) of Depauville, Thomas (Mary) of Altimar, Ronald (Mary) of Alaska, Joseph (Becky) of North Carolina, Michael and Pat of Constantia, and Phillip of Oshawa Ontario; seven sisters, Diane Hanson of Carthage, Rose (Ernie) Ludlow of West Monroe, Shirley (Hank) Chisamore of Oshawa Ontario, Gail (Ed) Countryman of Carthage, Janie (Mike) Spry of Hastings, Paula Hamlin of North Carolina, Lynn Phelps of Central Square; nieces and nephews.

One brother died in infancy.
