GOUVERNEUR — Ryan M. Weir, 20, of 17 South St., was charged by St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies with criminal contempt at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Mr. Weir allegedly violated an order of protection by getting involved in a domestic dispute with a protected person at her home on Main Street. Police did not identify the woman.

Mr. Weir was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, where he was held on $1,000 bail.
