CARTHAGE — The funeral for Kay E. Waite, wife of Harold L. Waite, will be at 11a.m. Friday, February 8th, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, February 7th from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Waite, 69, of the Sayre Road, Carthage, passed away Thursday at University Hospital, Syracuse.

She was born in Watertown, May 15, 1943, a daughter to Harold and Anne Gray Andrews. Following her education, Kay worked for the Agricultural Insurance Co., Watertown, prior to her marriage to Harold L. Waite on March 2, 1963 at the Champion Methodist Church. Mrs. Waite worked for Community Bank in Carthage and Linda’s Patchwork in Watertown for many years.

Kay was a member of the Champion Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping, and spending her time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Kay loved country music, especially Alan Jackson’s music and enjoyed attending his shows.

She is survived by her husband Harold L., Carthage. Her daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Bill Doney, Orange City, FL. Her son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Debra Waite, Black River. Six grandchildren, Jenny, William, Russell, Jessica Doney, Nicole Howard and Bob Hatch. A great granddaughter Kendall Doney. Her sister, Beverly Rhilik, Waynesville, NC. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Fred Andrews, Sr., in 1987.
