Watertown police on Monday arrested a man who sold suspected stolen property to Empire Recycling, 511 Pearl St.
John P. Driggs, 34, of 272 State St., Apt. A2, is charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. He was released to the custody of Fort Drum personnel to await prosecution in City Court.
Police allege that on the afternoon of Dec. 20 he sold for $43.47 four car rims and insulated wire to the recycling company. The items are believed to have been stolen within the prior 24 hours during a burglary at a warehouse at 560 W. Main St., owned by Darin T. Duarte, 30610 Route 12, police said.
