FORT DRUM Carl E. King Jr., 44, of Normal, Ill., was charged Monday afternoon by Jefferson County sheriffs deputies with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon following an incident at the Iraqi Freedom Gate of Fort Drum.
Deputies said Mr. King had an unloaded piston in a bag in the sleeper portion of his truck when he tried to enter Fort Drum at 2:10 p.m. He was taken to LeRay Town Court, where he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $200. The pistol was secured as evidence, deputies said.
