Margaret Nye


LOWVILLE- Margaret Nye, 78, of Valley View Court in Lowville, died on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Lewis County General Hospital where she had been a patient for a few weeks. She was born on July 21, 1934 in Dadville, New York to Giles and Helen Mitchell Hulbert.

She graduated from Lowville Academy. She married Robert Nye on March 3, 1963 in Elkhart, Indiana. Mr. Nye died on April 19, 1990. She retired after 22 years of working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Elkhart Hospital in Indiana. She had moved back to the Lowville area five years ago.

She is survived by several children; Wendy Hosler, Martinsburg; Susan and her husband Marty Ingersoll, Myrtle Beach, SC; Amy and Darrell Randall, Indiana; Jody and Gerry Smith, Indiana; and she is predeceased by two infant twins, Barbara and Billy.

She is also survived by a brother, William Hulbert, Indiana; and a sister, Linda Harrington, Indiana. She is predeceased by a brother David and a sister Donna Troyer.

She is survived by 10- grandchildren and 17- great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by a great- granddaughter MyKayla Benson in 2010.

She was an artist, she loved painting, crocheting and knitting, traveling and she was very family oriented.

Come celebrate Margaret’s life on Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 6-8pm at the VFW in Lowville, located at 7784 West State Street in Lowville, NY 13367. Burial will be held at a later date in the Rice Cemetery in Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc. located at 500 State Street in Carthage, NY.
