FORT COVINGTON - OFA wasted no time to hit full stride for the final week of the NAC Central Boys Basketball season where the Blue Devils will play three games.

The Devils scored 35 points in the first quarter and cruised to a 95-40 win at Salmon River to climb to 8-1 and stay tied for the division lead with 9-1 Malone. OFA (14-1) finishes the division season by visiting Gouverneur on Wednesday and then hosting Canton in its Senior Night Game on Friday.

Ten players scored for Coach Mark Henry’s squad led by Breton LaRose who netted 20 points with 13 rebounds, Tyler Knowlton with 14 points, Matt Piercey with 13 points, five assists and four steals and Pat Cosmo and Colin Ross with 11 points apiece.

Jack Manke followed with season highs of nine points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Kinnon LaRose and Connor Hannan added seven and six points and Mitchell Barber passed out fourth assists and scored two points along with Seth Pinkerton.

Josh Hynes buried three threes and seven of eight free throws scoring a game-high 30 points for Salmon River.

“We shot the ball very tonight and they had a player (Josh Hynes) who didn’t miss scoring 30 points. Jack Manke gave us a nice night on the boards” said Coach Henry.

The OFA JVs moved within two games of a perfect season as they climbed to 16-0 in a 54-25 win. Tristan Moore and Josh Farrar comvbined for 12 and 10 points for the Devils and Jon Rogers netted nine. Jordan Wood scored eighrt points for Salmon River.
