POTSDAM Area residents are being warned about a possible telephone scam involving calls about residents abroad.
Potsdam police said they received a report from a town of Potsdam resident about callers claiming to be another country and saying that one of their relatives was visiting abroad and somehow ran afoul of the police.The caller usually requestsmoney via a wire service.
Please be vigilant and check with your relatives to determine if the person that the caller claims to be in trouble is actually in that country, Potsdam police said.
