Raymond E. Allison

Raymond Earl Allison, age 82, passed away on January 24, 2013. He was born on May 10, 1930 in Ft Scott, KS to Raymond Allison and Lena Schubert Allison.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dolores M Townsend Allison residing in Paisley FL; 3 children, son David Allison, Paisley, FL; daughter Deborah (David) Brigham, Dexter, NY; daughter Peggy Allison, Colorado Springs, CO; 4 grandchildren Carrie, Jason, Erik and Adam; 3 great grandchildren Riley, Lily and Alexis. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Titus, Ft Scott, KS; brother Clarence Allison, Belle Plaine, KS and pre-deceased by brothers and sisters: Chester Allison, Wichita KS; Mary Sharp, Pratt, KS; Frank Allison, Ft Scott, KS; Thelma Kendrick, Sedro Woolley, WA.

Raymond served for 33 years in the Army / National Guard at Ft Drum, NY and was a Korean War Veteran. After retirement he was an avid follower of his local sports teams (both boys and girls) in NY and FL and received appreciation plaques for his attendance and guidance from the teams at Jefferson Community College, in NY, Stetson University in FL and Seminole Community College in FL (the players called him “Coach” and many times he even rode the team bus with the players to out-of-town-games). He and his wife enjoyed many years and hundreds of miles traveling across the U.S. visiting National Parks, Monuments, Memorials and other interesting places. Raymond’s favorites were the redwood and sequoia trees.

Raymond was a family man first and foremost, and loved his wife and family dearly. We will miss him and love him forever and he will always be in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612 in Raymond’s name and/or sign up for the Organ Donor Program, as they were both very close to his heart. There will be no service at this time; burial will be at a later date.
