Norwood, NY - Edwin Anthony Trathen passed away on February 1, 2013 at age 46. Edwin was born on September 2, 1966 in Massena, NY the son of Barbara and Thomas James Trathen. Edwin graduated from Madrid-Waddington High School in 1984. He studied Government at Capella University and St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Masters Degree in Political Science in 1996. Soon after he became employed by the State University of Potsdam, NY. In September 1999 he became Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services at North Country Community College in Saranac Lake, NY. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, and cooking.

He is survived by his sister, Darlene (Daniel) Berry; brothers, John (Marcia) Trathen, Joseph Trathen, Richard Trathen, Thomas (Laurie) Trathen. Funeral Services will be held at a time to be announced. Memorials may be made to Edwin A. Trathen Scholarship Fund, c/o Steve Tyrell, 23 Santanoni Ave., Saranac Lake, NY 12989.
