NORWOOD Mr. and Mrs. Wayne H. Henderson, 7702 Route 56, observed their 70th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
Mr. Henderson, son of the late William Henderson and Elizabeth Lonkey, and Helen I. Gang, daughter of the late Steve and Emma Gang, were married on Feb. 5, 1943, at Church of the Visitation, Norfolk, with Monsignor Albert J. Farrell officiating. Honor attendants were the late Mary LaPoint, sister of the bride, and the late Ronald LaPoint, brother-in-law of the bride.
Mr. Henderson attended Norwood High School and served in the Army from November 1943 to January 1946. He worked for Conrail for more than 27 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Henderson is a member of Norfolk American Legion and enjoys hunting and fishing.
Mrs. Henderson attended Norfolk High School. She is a homemaker and a member of St. Andrews Church Altar and Rosary Society, Norwood Golden Agers and Norfolk American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoys gardening and walking.
The couple has two daughters, Constance H. Bouchard, Potsdam, and Paula H. OBrian, Mitchell, Ind.; and two grandsons.
