ASSAULT - NICHOLVILLE - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Mikle N. Lavare, 25, of 13 1/2 Bridge St., Nicholville, with third-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing and fourth-degree criminal mischief Friday morning following an investigation into a domestic dispute in the town of Hopkinton. Deputies said Lavare allegedly choked his victim during the domestic, and she suffered minor injuries during the altercation. He also allegedly prevented the female from contacting police by taking her cell phone and then disconnecting the land line when she attempted to use the home phone to call police. Lavare was arraigned by Parishville Town Justice Frank Dunning and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash. He is scheduled to reappear Feb. 20 in Hopkinton Town Court.
