RESISTING ARREST - POTSDAM - Village police charged Martin R. Maurer, 30, with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at 10:30 a.m. Monday following an investigation into an incident at 3:15a.m. on New Year’s Day at a Market Streetbar. Maurer was involved in an altercation inside the establishment police said. Potsdam Police were called to respond to the location for an unruly person. When patrols arrived, Maurer was observed to be disorderly outside near the entrance and subsequently resisted their efforts to arrest him.

SPEEDING - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Louise S. Wheeler, 23, of Manchester, Vt., for speed in zone (47/30)at 1:09 p.m. Monday following a traffic stop on Maple Street. Police said they had initially observed her vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed east on Maple Street.

1041 Report of a lost purse vicinity of Big Lots parking lot.

1148 Fingerprints were completed on an individual for employment purposes.

1207 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to Norwood.

1217 A temporary handicapped parking permit was issued

1243 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to SUNY Potsdam Draime Hall

1309 Traffic stop. Ticket issued.

1328 Potsdam Rescue dispatched to SUNY Potsdam Student Health Center.

1524 Record check completed for NYSP Massena on pistol permit applicants.

1530 Fingerprints completed for an applicant for the Peace Corps.

1542 Sugar Creek on Maple Street turned in a driver’s license that was left at that location. The owner was contacted and came to retrieve property.

1646 Report of an individual attempting to use a fake ID at a local business to purchase alcohol. Investigation continues.

1653 Mental health incident.Individual was transported to Claxton Hepburn Medical Center for evaluation.

1753 Property damage accident in the Price Chopper parking lot. An unattended vehicle rolled into a parked vehicle.

2120 Patrol responded to a hit and run property damage accident in the Prosh Lot.

2344 Traffic stop on Sandstone Drive. Verbal warning issued.
