FORT DRUM The post on Thursday will welcome star NFL and college running back Herschel Walker to post, according to a listing on the Facebook page of the 10th Sustainment Brigade.
Mr. Walker will talk about his struggles with mental illness and how he first reached out to seek treatment. The event is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the posts Multi-Purpose Auditorium.
Mr. Walker has admitted struggles with dissociative identity disorder, and in the past has spoken about his mental health issues at other military installations.
Mr. Walker won the 1982 Heisman trophy while attending the University of Georgia, before playing several seasons in the NFL and USFL. In recent years, he has also been active in mixed martial arts fights.
