Watertown- Eleanor Althea Peacor, 96, South Meadow Street, passed away Friday afternoon at her residence.She was born in Watertown on June 27, 1916, a daughter of Frank I. and Cora Dawson Peacor.
She attended the old Mullin Street School, then graduated from Watertown Senior High School. After high school, she graduated from the Watertown College Center with a Degree in Public Accounting on October 31, 1960.
From 1936-1940 she worked for as a secretary to Clarence Kinne, President of Bagley and Seawall. From 1940-1984 she was employed by the accounting firm of Howard F. Furrington and the successor firms of Farrington & Adams, Adams & Company, Dermody, Burke & Brown and Sovie & Bowie, CPA, PC.
She was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church serving at times in the capacity of Deacon, Trustee, Elder, Treasurer and Recording Secretary. She was also a Treasurer of Womens Association of the church.
She is survived by two nephews, Donald D., Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Geoffrey D. Howland, Maine; and a niece, Priscilla J. of Galway Lake, New York.
A memorial service will be at the Stone Presbyterian Church, Watertown at a time to be determined by the family, with spring burial in Flackville Cemetery.
