Watertown- The funeral service for Howard J. Whitmarsh will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 11am at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Rev. Mike Bartholomew officiating. Calling hours will precede the service from 10am-11am. Spring Burial will be held May 11, 2013 at North Watertown Cemetery.

Mr. Whitmarsh, 91, died on February 7 at the Samaritan Medical Center.

Born in Greene, NY November 7, 1921, he was a son to Floyd and Edith Gates Whitmarsh. He was educated locally. On April 11, 1959 he married Marcia Isbister at the Assembly of God Church, Ithaca, NY. She passed in 2005.

Mr. Whitmarsh worked as a farmer at various local farms. He would later work at Cornell in the Agricultural Department. He taught Sunday School and led Bible Studies at Living Waters Fellowship for many years.

Surviving are a son, Paul (Anna) Whitmarsh, Watertown; 2 daughters, Debra (David) Hartman, Branson, Missouri, Ruth (Rev. John) Petit, Watertown; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Ellen, and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Besides his wife, he is predeceased by 9 brothers: Claud, Clate, Charlie, Luther, Milo, Harold (His twin), Percy, Elmer and Guy.

Donations may be made in his name to Living Waters Fellowship, 425 Tilden Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
