N-N announces its students of the month


NORFOLK - The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently chose the Students of the Month for the month of December. The students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Gretchen Dunkelberg is the freshman student of the month. She is the daughter of Dennis and Ona Dunkelberg of Massena.

She likes reading books and listening to music. She participates in Key Club.

Gretchen plans to finish high school; then go to college to become a librarian.

Brandin Cousineau is the sophomore student of the month. He is the son of Kindra and Todd Cousineau of Norwood.

He is interested in Criminal Justice. He participates in varsity hockey, Robotics and Varsity Club.

In the future Brandin wants to attend college and play hockey there.

Dustin Norton is the junior student of the month. He is the son of Pattie Norton of Norwood.

He likes staying after school to work out. He participates in football, indoor track and baseball.

After high school. Dustin plans to join the military.

Carlea Weaver is the senior student of the month. She is the daughter of Jill and Carl Weaver of Chase Mills.

She enjoys playing sports, snowmobiling and hanging out with friends. She participates in basketball, soccer, softball, National Honor Society, Student Council and Varsity Club.

Carlea plans to go to Le Moyne College for pre-veterinary science and become a veterinarian.

Each student that was chosen received a gift card from a local restaurant. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smith’s of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.
