COPENHAGEN State police allege they have solved the mystery about who chopped down a Norway spruce tree on private property here a few weeks before Christmas.
The tree, valued at $500, was cut down Nov. 30 or Dec. 1 on the property of Peter T. Jones, 3119 Cataract St. A trooper, referring to the spruce as a Christmas tree, has made two arrests in the investigation.
Matthew A. Taylor, 22, of 716B Phalen Drive, was charged Jan. 22 with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and on Thursday, Raymond G. Taylor, same age and address, was cited with petit larceny. They await prosecution in town of Denmark Court.
