Kurt L. and Sylvia Tennant, Ogdensburg, announce the engagement of their daughter, Ellyssa Jane Tennant, Ogdensburg, to Joel O. Smithers, Ogdensburg.

Miss Tennant graduated in 2009 from Heuvelton Central School and received a bachelor’s degree in geology from Hartwick College, Oneonta. She is employed by North Country Savings Bank, Ogdensburg.

Mr. Smithers, son of Jeffrey L. and Lisa Smithers, Heuvelton, graduated in 2009 from Heuvelton Central School and is finishing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Clarkson University, Potsdam.

A July wedding is planned.
