A Watertown man was arrested Friday night after he allegedly hit a woman and fought with police officers.
Edgar L. Richardson, 35, of 119 State Place, upper apartment, was charged by Watertown police with third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. He was arraigned before part-time City Judge Catherine J. Palermo and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with bail set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond.
Mr. Richardson was accused of repeatedly punching Katrina M. Reed, same address, in the face, causing severe swelling and bruising, and flipping over a table, breaking a glass face worth $100.
Police said he then fought with officers by swinging his fists and kicking and also pushed Officer Matthew T. Roll.
