A bill received the state Senate Agriculture Committees recommendation Tuesday to create a Dine: Pride of New York designation for restaurants to advertise food grown by local producers.
Under the program, restaurants would have to prove 15 percent of their ingredients are processed or grown in New York.
Those who qualify would be allowed to display logos on windows and use them for advertising. Sponsored by Sen. David J. Valesky, D-Oneida, the bill now will go to the Senate Finance Committee.
