Benjamin G. Worden, 35, of 114 Franklin St., Apt. 306, was charged by Watertown police about 5:30 p.m. Sunday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

It is alleged that he possessed a Xanax pill without a prescription at his residence and also had a small bag of marijuana in his pocket. As a result of the same incident, John R. Dening, 39, of 150 Clinton St., Apt. G-6, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after police said he possessed a pipe containing marijuana residue at Mr. Worden’s residence.

Both men were issued appearance tickets for City Court.
