The Most Rev. Terry R. LaValley, bishop of Ogdensburg, will lead a special Roman Catholic mass at noon Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Ogdensburg.

The intention of the mass is the upcoming retirement of Pope Benedict XVI. The mass coincides with the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter.

St. Mary’s Cathedral is at 415 Hamilton St.
