MASSENA - Four of Jefferson Elementary art teacher Linda Nowak’s students will display their work at the 30th annual Elementary Art Exhibit at the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg.

Ms. Nowak selected the work from among her many art students.

“I try to select new projects so that the Remington Exhibit stays fresh and new. This year, the birch trees and the polar bears are new. I think the exhibit gives great exposure for the students -their artwork will be on display at the museum and online,” she said.

The exhibit opens on March 2 and will display their art work through May 11.

The following pieces are on display:

“Tiger Cat” by Rylee Cole, Kindergarten

“I made my tiger with crayon. I like art.”

“Polar Bears” by Gracie Hurlbut, 1st grade

“I used lots of paint to make my polar bears. The dots are snowballs – I made them with a paint brush. I had lots of fun.”

“Birch Trees in Winter” by Claudia Haverstock, 5th grade

“I painted and used a different type of crayon. Then I got a separate piece of paper and cardboard to make the trees. I also used pencil to make the shadows.“

“The Three Men of Music” by Tyler McDonald, 6th grade

“Everyone in the class got to pick one picture. Once we picked picture, we had to draw. So first, I had to make the outlines and then I used oil pastels for the whole piece. I love it art, it’s so fun.”
