Clayton/LaFargeville, NY- Bonnie Lou Mellon McDonald, 63 of LaFargeville, NY, died Friday, February 22nd at Samaritan Keep Home.
Bonnie was born March 2, 1949 in Clayton, NY, the daughter of Harold A. and Hazel Baker Mellon. She married John Andrew McDonald at United Methodist Church in Clayton, NY.
Bonnie was a graduate of Clayton Central School, and received two associates degrees from Jefferson Community College.
Bonnie previously worked for the Clayton Chamber of Commerce and the North Jefferson Medical Group.
She is survived by her husband, John Andrew, their daughter, Trena (Michael) Harrington, their son, Todd McDonald, and her sisters, Anne Louise Mellon and Cindy Mellon Helmer (companion, Michael Schnauber) both of Clayton.
Bonnie was a loving devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She cherished her Boyde Bear collection, her flower gardens and greatly enjoyed blue skies and warm sunny days.
The family would like to thank the entire staff but especially the 2nd floor Staff of Samaritan Keep Home and Dr. Grybowski for their compassion, dedication and professionalism in administering to Bonnies care.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Costello Funeral Service, Alexandria Bay, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bonnies name to the Second Floor Residents Fund, Samaritan Keep Home, 133 Pratt Street, Watertown, NY 13601, or to Animal Charities, PO Box 590, Dexter, NY 13634, or a charity of ones choice.
