Ellisburg- The funeral for Mary E. Clark will be 11am Friday, March 1st at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Spring burial will be in Ellisburg Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, February 28th from 4 pm – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clark, 71, Torrey Hill Rd., Ellisburg, passed away Saturday, February 23rd at the Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born January 28, 1942 in the Town of Denmark, a daughter to Nester and Eleanor Corrigan Stephens. She was Salutatorian of the Mannsville Manor Central School Class of 1960. She married Howard G. Clark August 5, 1960. Mr. and Mrs. Clark operated a dairy farm until 1984. Mary worked at Lally’s Manufacturing, Adams. She obtained her nursing certificate from BOCES in 1987 and her accounting degree from Jefferson Community College in the early 1990’s. Mary worked as an LPN at the Samaritan Medical Center. Her interests were flowers, country music, reading, horseback riding, picnics and family.

She is survived by her husband, Howard. Her children H.G. Dale, Deanna E., Jennifer M. and Anissa M. Clark, all of Ellisburg. An adopted daughter Lisa M. Henderson and her companion William Graves, Henderson. Grandchildren Trevor Henderson, Henderson, and Cassandra Henderson, Miami, FL. Several nieces and nephews to include those she raised, Keith A.(Janna) Sargent, Texas; Karie A. (William) Livermore, Ellisburg; Rennie E. (Darren) Rechel, Washington and Tabitha L. Sargent and her children Jon and Thomas Steele, who currently reside with the Clark’s. Many great nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by her brothers, John Stephens, Henderson; Norman Stephens, PA; David L. Stephens, Adams. Her sisters Helen L. Stephens, Ellisburg and Donna J. Whaley, Pulaski. A sister-in-law, Shirley M. Parkinson, Calcium.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, a brother, James Stephens and a brother-in-law, Gerald A. Clark.
