POTSDAM - The Kiwanis Club of Potsdam recently inducted four new members.
Henry and Nancy Walters of Potsdam, originally from Pawling, were inducted along with Marcy Adams, whose son, Carson, is in the clubs K-kids program, and Anna Russell. Ms. Russell could not attend the induction so Lauren Premo stood in for her.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteer members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world, one child, and one community at a time. They are one of the clubs in the St. Lawrence Kiwanis Division.
The St. Lawrence Division Kiwanis covers Jefferson, St. Lawrence, and Franklin counties and houses nine Kiwanis Clubs, including Canton Kiwanis, Gouverneur Kiwanis, Jefferson Breakfast Kiwanis, Malone Kiwanis, Massena Kiwanis, Norwood Kiwanis, Ogdensburg Kiwanis, Potsdam Kiwanis, and Watertown Luncheon Kiwanis.
The Potsdam club supports almost 20 different projects including three youth groups and a scholarship program, which benefit the youth of the community.
They will hold a spaghetti supper on April 10 to fundraise for its many projects.
The Potsdam Kiwanis Club meets at noon every Tuesday at the Potsdam Ponderosa. They will be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2014. For information on becoming a member, contact potsdam.kiwani@gmail.com or write to P.O. Box 793, Potsdam NY 13676.
