OGDENSBURG A fifth man has been charged for allegedly dealing crack cocaine in the city.
City police said Karl G. Dimock, 44, of no fixed address, was arrested Tuesday after a sealed indictment was opened in St. Lawrence County Court charging him with three counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police detained him during a routine traffic stop on Morris Street and held him for arraignment Wednesday.
Police declined to state how much crack cocaine he is accused of possessing, but under state law, third-degree possession and sale are defined as having and selling up to a half ounce of the drug.
Mr. Dimock was arraigned by Judge Kathleen M. Rogers Wednesday and sent to county jail in Canton on $50,000 bail or bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court at 9:30 a.m. March 7.
City police Detective Daniel F. Mousaw said Mr. Dimock was among five people rounded up Tuesday in a raid by city police and members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force targeting those allegedly selling crack cocaine and prescription narcotic painkillers.
