State and federal officers on Tuesday raided the office and home of Syracuse attorney Martin J. Rothschild, formerly of Watertown, in connection with a child pornography investigation, Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick told the Syracuse Post-Standard Wednesday.
Information obtained by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force prompted the investigation more than two months ago, the Post-Standard reported.
State police, assisted by U.S. marshalls and the Secret Service, served search warrants and seized the attorneys computers. No charges have been filed, but Mr. Fitzpatrick told the newspaper forensic computer specialists are scouring Mr. Rothschilds computers for evidence. He was unable to provide a progress report on that portion of the investigation.
Mr. Fitzpatrick specified to the newspaper that there is no evidence of sexual contact being made by the lawyer with children.
Mr. Rothschild, a resident of Manlius, is a 1971 graduate of Watertown High School.
