Adams- Roger W. Durham, 73, of 11581 Shear Road, Adams, passed away Tuesday afternoon at University Hospital, Syracuse, following a long illness.

He was born in Adams, son to Vernon and Laura Jenks Durham, on October 3rd, 1939. He attended the Union Academy of Belleville.

Roger enjoyed playing slots, refinishing furniture, gardening, lawn work and travel. He also enjoyed auctions and picking.

Roger was self-employed, and worked at Borden’s Milk Plant until retiring in 1986.

Roger married Betty Warner on October 8th 1974, in the Town of Orwell. She passed away September 20, 2006.

Roger is survived by four children. Shawn of Adams, Larry of Adams, Ron and his wife Bonnie of Watertown and Patti of Watertown. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren, A son David passed away August 10, 2002. Two sisters, Mae Durham and Sylvia Simmons also predeceased him.

The funeral will be 11 am Saturday, March 2nd at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral, Belleville, with Rev. Jane Eastham officiating. Spring burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 7 pm – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Instead of flowers, donations may be made to the Henderson Ambulance Squad.
