William W. Sampson


Watertown- William W. Sampson, 51, 261 Hunt Street, died at his residence February 26 under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Bill was born in Watertown August 9, 1961, a son to Frank B. and Roberta M. Henderson Sampson. He was educated locally. He worked as a cook at various local restaurants until he retired due to disability.

Bill enjoyed family get-togethers, camping, bingo and music. He also attended Watertown Assembly of God Church.Surviving are 2 daughters, Peggy Sampson and companion Billy Soluri, Christina Sampson; a son, William Sampson Jr.; his significant other of 20 years, Mary Slate, a step-daughter, Ashley (Robert) Crump; a step-son, Shawn Slate and companion Chandra Chrisman; 3 sisters, Penny (Steve) Bauder, Sylvia (Roy) Brase, Patty (Paul) Miner; 2 brothers, Frank Sampson, Dan (Mickie) Sampson; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his stepfather, Charles Morehouse, a sister, MaryLou Janis, and a brother, Robert.

Calling hours will be Friday, March 1 from 5pm - 7pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. The funeral service will follow at 7pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring at Dexter Cemetery.

Donations may be made in his name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
