Mr. and Mrs. Clifford F. Carr Jr., Watertown, observed their 66th wedding anniversary Feb. 23.
Mr. Carr, son of the late Clifford F. Sr. and Dorothy Carr, and Phyllis Anzalone, daughter of the late Samuel and Josephine Anzalone, were married Feb. 23, 1947, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Redwood, with the Rev. Edmund Dumas officiating. Honor attendants were the late Jack Kelsey and the late Rita Butler, sister of the bride.
The couple resided in Theresa until April 2010, when they moved to Ives Hill Retirement Community.
Mr. Carr graduated in 1942 from Theresa High School. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Carr was honorably discharged in March 1946. He was employed by St. Regis Paper Co., Deferiet, for 39 years, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Carr graduated in 1944 from Watertown High School. She was the cafeteria cashier at Theresa Elementary School, retiring after 19 years. Mrs. Carr enjoys crossword puzzles.
The couple has three daughters and sons-in-law, Lona and Stan Breitkopf, Palmyra, Joanie and Larry Evans, Clyde, and Julie and Fred Schweitzer, Cicero; a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Eydie, Carthage; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
