Funeral services for 92-year old Mrs. Velma P. McDonald will be held Monday, March 4 at 4:00 PM at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam with Rev. Lee Sweeney officiating. Friends may call at Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 4. A spring burial will take place in the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Parishville. Mrs. McDonald died February 28, 2013 at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena. She was a lifelong resident of Potsdam.

Survivors include a son, Leo McDonald formerly of Potsdam now of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; three granddaughters: Mrs. Randy (Kelly) Davis of Potsdam, Mrs. Daniel (Bonnie) Cremer of Horseheads, NY, Mrs. Edward (Sherry) Simon of Potsdam; a son, Brian McDonald also of Potsdam, and several great grandchildren.

Velma was born in Potsdam, NY December 5, 1920 the daughter of Charles Harland Moffitt and Florence Pearl (Crump) Moffitt. She attended local district schools. On August 6, 1939 she married Frederick A. McDonald. Mr. McDonald died March 8, 1991.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
