Adam E. Rutz, 85, of W. Embargo St., passed away February 25, 2013, at Bethany Gardens. He was born June 18, 1927, in Rome, the son of Adam and Anna Rapke Rutz. He attended Rome Schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1945. On June 28, 1957, he married Irene M. Archer at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Rome.
Mr. Rutz was a United State Navy Veteran of WW II and also a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rutz was employed by the U.S. Air Force and Army for 36 years, retiring in 1982. In 1985 he was employed by Birnie Bus Service as a part time school bus driver.
Surviving besides his wife is his only son, Gary and daughter-in-law, Margaret (Marnie) Rutz; two grandchildren, Jessica E. and Justin E., all of Rome; several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by four brothers, Arthur, Albert, William and Howard, and a sister, Mary Rutz Yager.
Funeral services were held at the familys convenience. Burial was held in Rome Cemetery.
