A village library in Massachusetts is raising money with the help of a celebrity lunch with Watertown resident Thomas H. Bradley III.
Mr. Bradley is chairman of the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show held in New York City. He became a member of Westminster in 1975 and its show chairman in 2002.
Watertown native Robert Bownes, vice president of the Osterville Village Library, thought of the idea to invite Mr. Bradley to be the lunch guest at the benefit. An auction is scheduled to win the opportunity to dine with Mr. Bradley.
We know that dog lovers are an enthusiastic group and we look forward to spirited bidding for this opportunity, Mr. Bownes said in an email.
The lunch is scheduled for Aug. 1. The winning bidder and five friends will dine with Mr. Bradley in a private dining room at the Wianno Club overlooking Nantucket Sound.
Internet bidding for the event begins May 1. More information is available on the Osterville Village Library website at www.ostervillefreelibrary.org. Click on other events.
