BROWNVILLE Jane A. Brenon Taylor, 78, Brownville, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Calling hours will be held at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, on Tuesday, March 5, from 2 - 6PM. The funeral mass will be at St. Anthonys Church, Watertown on Wednesday, March 6, at 11AM with Rev. Kevin OBrien, pastor of St. Raphaels Church, Heuvelton officiating. Spring burial will be in Brownville Cemetery.
Jane was born in Brownville on November 2, 1934, daughter of Charles F. and Adeline B. McGrath Brenon Sr., and she graduated from Brownville - Glen Park High School.
On November 20, 1975 she married Robert A. Taylor at Immaculate Conception Church, Brownville with Revs. James J. Ruddy and Douglas Comstock officiating. Mr. Taylor died in 1977.
For over fifty years, she was the accountant, bookkeeper, and eventually owner of Genter & Brenon Grocery and Hardware Store in Brownville. She had dedicated her life to helping others and enjoyed being an aunt, great aunt, great great aunt, and great great great aunt.
Jane is survived by twenty-two nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, James Brenon, 1924, and Charles F. Brenon, Jr., September 24, 2002, her three sisters, Bertha A. Cean, November 1, 2000, Frances A. Brenon, July 1, 1986, and Ruth B. Connor, December 8, 2005, and her nephew, Matthew J. Brenon.
