Thank God we have a place to get things that bother us off our chest. First of all the government is now calling Social Security a new name, Federal Benefit Retirement Entitlements. They are making it look like it’s something they are giving us, not something we earned and paid for weekly when we worked.

Then they took our money, not asking us and made poor investments with it. What we put in toward Social Security and what our employers paid amounted to 15 percent of our income.

Recently they had the gall to tell us the money won’t support us much longer. What irks me is that they don’t give me much credit or think my brain has shrunk in my old age. I am mad and all of you should be too.

I propose we call it by its rightful name, Earned Income Retirement. I worked 40 years to be able to draw Social Security, and I don’t appreciate the way my government has used my money and then tell me it’s running low. They do this with a straight face.

We deserve to have people in public office that will look out for our needs. We put them there. The next time you pull that voting lever down, think first. The next time they want to make cuts let them start with the payroll of the Senate and Congress.
