WADDINGTON – The St. Lawrence River Show Down Committee will be holding an informational meeting on the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society’s Bass Elite Tournament at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Hepburn Library community room.

“We want to encourage everyone in the surrounding villages and towns and especially residents and businesses in Waddington to attend so that they know what to expect the week of the tournament,” Mayor Janet M. Otto-Cassada said Thursday.

“Questions could concern the amount of anglers the festival will have, how to rent your house for the festival, how businesses can sponsor events and the security aspects of events going on throughout the week.”

The national bass fishing tournament is expected to take place Aug. 8 to 11, with a week’s worth of events scheduled around the event. The tournament is expected to draw thousands of people.

St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Patricia L. McKeown and her staff will also be on hand to answer questions.
