POTSDAM A Canton woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with an alleged identity-theft case.
State police on Wednesday reported that Kayla M. Diegan, 20, was arrested Tuesday morning. Specific details about the incident were not released Wednesday, and a call to troopers seeking more information on the case was not immediately returned.
Ms. Diegan was charged with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony; second-degree forgery involving a deed, will or contract, a class D felony, and third-degree identity theft, a class A misdemeanor.
Troopers said that the town of Potsdam incident was reported at 8 a.m. Tuesday and that Ms. Diegan was arrested at 8:12 a.m.
She was released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
