HEUVELTON - After not placing at the either the Lisbon or Ogdensburg Cheerleading Competition, the Heuvelton Varsity Cheerleading Team placed second for the second straight night in Varsity B honors at their own competition.
The Bulldogs, coached by Mandi McNamara and assisted by Amanda Klossner, scored 224.5 points on Saturday to be edged by undefeated Varsity B opponent Lisbon which posted 230 points.
We took a lot of pride after the Lisbon competition and did a lot of work changing and improving our routine. Theyve worked extremely hard and keep improving. Good teams find a way to improve and weve done that, said McNamara as her team consists of Derek Fenton, Ashlyn Foster, Amanda Smith, Alexis Sawyer, Rachael Sharlow, Shelby Williams, Eliza Jane Hamilton, Natalie Chambers, Tiffany Bogardus, Shayanne Willard, Katie Bates, Ali Scalone, Leslie teRiele, Kursten Weigandt, and Marie McDonnell.
The Knights who have placed first at Lisbon, OFA, and Edwards-Knox which a score of 254 on Friday evening feature Megan Barney, Kaela Erwin, Rileigh Mee, Emily Rayburn, Kali Martin, Bailey Dean, Chelsey Duprey, Nicole Neadam, Aneissa Fields, Alyshia Murray, Holly Williams, Shelby Dishaw, McKenzie Lynch, Sierra Erwin, Morgan Beldock, and Adrien Hyde.
Clifton-Fine placed third with 188.5 points. Coached by Holly Durham, the Eagles consist of Carly Watson, David Law, Paige LaPlante, Shania Muncil, Jackie Durham, Alicia Cole, Savannah Crane, and Julie Walrath.
Malone brought home Varsity A honors and overall honors with 248.5 points with a stunning performance. Gouverneur (240) took second. The Huskies coached by Karen Johnson won 248.5-248 at Edwards-Knox on Friday.

OFA took third with 232.5 points at Heuvelton on Saturday after posting 236 at Edwards-Knox.
