AGGRAVATED DWI - MASSENA - A Hogansburg man with a blood alcohol content that was reportedly four times higher than the legal limit for operating a motor vehicle faces four misdemeanor charges and several vehicle and traffic law violations after leading state troopers from Massena to the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation.

Massena-based state police charged Perry R. Montour, 47, of 18 White Road, Hogansburg, with aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, third-degree fleeing a police officer and consuming alcohol in a vehicle on a public highway and ticketed him for failure to keep rightm unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle, making an unsafe turn and speeding in connection with an incident that began at 8 p.m. Saturday and continued for approximately 4.5 miles with speeds reaching 60 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Montour reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.32 percent. The blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent of higher constitutes a driving while intoxicated count and the charge is elevated to aggravated DWI when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher. Court documents indicated Montour told troopers he hadn’t initially complied because he didn’t want a driving while intoxicated charge and acknowledged he was “going to blow it up you know” when he was asked to take the breathalyzer test, indicating he had consumed more than a case of beer.

Tickets indicate troopers on a ride on the Hall Road and Rooseveltown Road in the towns of Bombay and Massena before the stop was completed.

Montour was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow, and bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION - MASSENA - Massena-based state police charged Devin Colon, 20, of Massena with unlawful possession of marijuana following an incident at 5:10 a.m. Sunday when U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents found he was in possession of a small quantity of marijuana during a secondary inspection at the U.S. port of entry in Rooseveltown.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT - POTSDAM - Massena-based state police charged Robert J. McNamara, 18, of Potsdam and Nathan A. Wells, 19, of Potsdam with disorderly conduct - fighting following an investigation into an altercation reported at 2:05 p.m. March 5. Troopers reported Sunday the town men had been charged with disorderly conduct Tuesday at 7222 state Route 56, Potsdam.
