Donald J. Spink, 73, Us Rt 11, Watertown, passed away Friday evening at the Hospice Residence, Gotham St., where he had resided for two days.

The memorial service will be 3 pm Monday, March 11th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Pastor Al Dowker of the Honeyville Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be later in the spring in North Watertown Cemetery. Calling hours are from 1 pm - 3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.

Donald was born in Watertown a son to Charles and Blanche Denny Spink. He graduated from Watertown High School and served with the US Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Spink was employed for many years at the New York Air Brake, retiring from there.

Donald married Beverly Woolsey November 1, 1959 at Hope Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Spink, a retired librarian for the Watertown Daily Times, passed August 10, 2002.Mr. Spink was a member of the VFW Post 1400 and the American Legion Post 61, both of Watertown. He enjoyed camping and bowling.

Mr. Spink is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Spink, Rome; David Spink, Watertown. Two granddaughters, Courtney and Emily. Three sisters, Betty Miller, Jean Larabee and Kay Wilcox, all of Watertown.Several nieces and nephews. A brother Frederick, predeceased him.
