GOUVERNEUR — St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies charged two men who were “acting in a violent and threatening manner” during a session of Gouverneur Town Court last week, according to a report released Monday.

Charged were Ryan M. Weir, 21, of 271-A Talcville Road, Edwards, and Bryant Depompe, 25, of 336 County Route 11.

The two were arrested at 4:30 p.m. Thursday after they “refused to calm down and comply” with deputies’ orders. The report did not elaborate on the nature of the disturbance, but it said that Mr. Weir was physically restrained and that Gouverneur village police assisted at the scene.

Both men are to answer the charges in Gouverneur Town Court.
