Robert J. Mallette, 53, of 115 St. Mary St., was charged by city police Monday night at his residence with third-degree assault.

He is accused of pushing Robert Lavine Jr., 117 St. Mary St., causing him to stumble backwards and fall down some front porch steps, suffering a broken leg, on Feb. 25.

Mr. Mallette was issued an appearance ticket for City Court.
