LOWVILLE- Michael Gavin Walrath, 49, of Sumter, SC, formerly of Lowville, died on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his home, under the care of his wife, Pat and Hospice.
A memorial service was held in Sumter, SC. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tuomey Hospice and Palliative Care, 500 Pinewood Road, Suite 2, Sumter, SC 29154.
Michael is survived by his wife, Pat; his mother and step father, Delores Dee and Bill Tuttle of Lowville; his maternal grandmother, Helen Hickok of Lowville; his step-mother, Donna Walrath of Parish; half-sister, Holly Walrath of Washington, D.C.; half-brother, Scott Walrath of Parish; a step-son and his wife, Harold and Jean Nash of Sumter, SC; a step-brother and his wife, William and Sandy Tuttle of Watertown, NY; two step-sisters and their husbands, Lisa and Duane Moshier of Croghan; Becky and Don Davis of Albany, Georgia; four step-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Richard Walrath; maternal grandfather, John Gavin; paternal grandparents, Ward and Ethel Walrath; aunt and uncle, Kathy and Ron.
He was born on May 22, 1963 in Frankfurt, Germany, a son of the late Richard Walrath and Delores Gavin Walrath and attended Lowville Academy. He moved to South Carolina in the late 1990s. He enjoyed NASCAR.
