FOWLER - Randy Griffith, 66, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.

There will be no funeral service and calling hours are Tuesday, March 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Green Funeral Home, Gouverneur.

Randy was born January 29, 1947 in Watertown, the son of Gordon and Marjorie Whitmore Griffith.

Randy graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1966 and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving several medals of distinction including Purple Hearts and Bronze Stars.

He worked in construction most of his life for firms such as Rouse Construction and Structural Associates for 20 years. For many years, Randy also ran a farm and more recently was self-employed in construction and excavation. Randy enjoyed his work, horseback riding with his companion Judy, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Randy is survived by his companion Judy Werlau, two sons Gordon and his wife Teah Griffith of Fullerville, Michael Griffith of Fullerville, two daughters Raelynn Griffith of Syracuse, Lynn Griffith of Richville, 9 grandchildren, a brother Ricky and his wife Cindy Griffith of Plattsburgh, a sister Heidi and her husband Joe Smith of Adams, nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gouverneur Vol. Fire Department, 33 Clinton Street, Gouverneur, NY 13642 or the Gouverneur Vol. Rescue Squad, PO Box 164, Gouverneur, NY 13642.
