A. Calvin Peterson, 82, a former resident of Canton NY, passed away on March 10, 2013. He had been dealing with prostate cancer for the last 10 years. Cal died at his retirement home in Green Valley, AZ. There will be no calling hours or funeral. His body will be cremated and buried in the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery in Canton.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Beth; daughter Susan Peterson and grandson Kevin of Plattsburgh, NY; son Samuel Peterson of Tuscon, AZ; daughter Janet and Per Lundstam and grandson Odin of Heber City, UT; and daughter Marjorie and Chris Sherer and grandchildren Emmitt and Malia of Heber City, UT. He was predeceased by his daughter Laurie.

Cal spent his life working in the education field and his work took him to many communities in New York State. He often said that he loved the rural lifestyle of Upstate New York.
